The best and safest way to clone a Windows XP drive is to seek help from professional Windows XP cloning software. Partial users recommend Macrium Reflect (version 7 or older), Clonezilla, or Acronis True Image 2019.
However, these tools have their limitations. For instance, Acronis True Image 2019 only works with Windows XP SP3. Moreover, it doesn't support the following dynamic volume types: Mirrored and RAID-5.
Thus, several users might ask what is the best disk cloning software for Windows XP. The answer is EaseUS Disk Copy. It can make an exact clone of a hard drive or partition, allowing quick data retrieval in the event of data loss. It supports a variety of operating systems, including Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, and 11.

Before disk cloning, please prepare an HDD/SSD docker and connect one of them to a USB port on the back of the machine. Meanwhile, use a larger-capacity HDD/SSD than your previous Windows XP drive and put it in the drive docker.
- You're supposed to back up your larger HDD/SSD files via EaseUS Todo Backup because this disk cloning process will wipe out all its existing data.
- If your prepared HDD/SSD is new, please initialize it via Disk Management: press Win + X and choose Disk Management to open it. Then, right-click on your recognized larger HDD/SSD, select Initialize Disk, and set it as MBR or GPT.
The following steps depict how to clone a Windows XP drive using EaseUS Disk Copy.
Step 1. Connect your larger HDD or SSD to your PC if necessary > install and run EaseUS Disk Copy.
Step 2. Select Disk Mode > select your Windows XP drive as the source drive > click Next.
Step 3. Select your connected HDD/SSD as the destination drive > click Next > select Edit disk layout > Check the option if the target is SSD > click Proceed.
Step 4. Click Continue to erase all the existing data on your larger HDD/SSD > click OK > please wait patiently.
