Kevin McBride, the last man to defeat Mike Tyson in the ring, has weighed in on a hypothetical boxing showdown between a prime Tyson and Anthony Joshua.Despite Tyson's age of 58, he is set for a sensational return to the ring to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul this November.

The bout was initially scheduled for last month but was postponed due to the legend's medical issues. As the combat sports world anticipates Tyson's comeback, memories of his fearsome peak years, when he dominated the heavyweight division, are being reignited.

In contrast, Joshua is gearing up for a significant bout against Daniel Dubious for the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley this September. While Joshua is celebrated as one of the finest heavyweights of his era, McBride believes that the raw punching power of a younger Tyson would have been overwhelming for him.

McBride, who famously brought Tyson's professional career to an end with a knockout in 2005, still holds immense respect for him. Speaking to instantcasino.com,McBride said: "AJ is a powerful puncher and has the size.

"He would have had a puncher's chance against Tyson. But the way Tyson hit, he was the most powerful man in the world in the way he hit. I wouldn't write AJ off, I've never felt AJ's power, but I'd choose Tyson in his heyday over AJ."

Looking ahead, if Paul manages to secure a victory over Tyson in their upcoming Texas fight on November 15, McBride, now aged 51, is keen to step into the ring with the social media star and entrepreneur himself.

He continued: "If Jake Paul takes the mantle of the last man to beat Mike Tyson then I'd hope Jake Paul would give me the opportunity to fight him. Then he'd have the chance to be the last man to beat Tyson and McBride. I'd jump in there with him."

Paul, since turning professional in 2020, has secured victories over a host of ex-UFC champions within the boxing ring, including Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz.

His sole defeat so far was against Tommy Fury, the first serious opponent he'd faced, who won by split decision in their bout back in February of last year.
